Professor Dr Nahreen Akhtar , Professor of Fetomaternal Medicine has been appointed as Treasurer of BSMMU and joined on 1st September 2024.She is a Professor of Fetomaternal Medicine since 10th February 2015. She served as Chairman of Fetomaternal Medicine from 28th August 2020 to 27th August 2023.She is at present, unit head of Fetomaternal Medicine dept. A former student of BAF Shaheen School & Holy Cross College passed her MBBS from Dhaka Medical College on 1985 . She has completed Diploma in Obstetrics and Gynecologyfrom dhaka University and Fellowship from BCPS. She has contributed her long period of life time for serving high risk pregnant mother, teaching students and also in research works. Her special interest in Birth Defects and Placenta Accreta Syndrome.
From 1985 she served in all the level of health services of Bangladesh. She had 1st started the government service from 1988 as Assistant Surgeon at Borhan Uddin Health Complex,Bhola , Kalkini USC,Madaripur and Harrirampur UHC,Manikganj.She was Assistant Registrar and Registrar of Obstetrics & Gynaecology at Sher- E -Bangla Medical College Hospital.She is serving as a teacher in BSMMU since 2003.
